The Everwatt – mod. CVPX self-regulating heating traces’ technology is based on some special polymers’ properties to vary their own resistance depending on temperature which they are exposed to.
These are made of two tinned Copper conductors, extruded within a compound made of specific concentrations of graphite and semi-conducting polymers constituting the heating section of the heating trace.
This matrix is then irradiated with special equipments that do record its molecular structure and build a memory of its original features.
The tape thus obtained is insulated by a polyolefin sheath (thermoplastic material resistant to high dielectric strength), which guarantees a first effective mechanical and electrical insulation.
The cable is then protected by a Stainless-Steel or Tinned Copper wire mesh and further coated by a second Fluoropolymer sheath that ensures resistance to corrosion and chemical aggressions.
Over the insulating sleeve there can be continuously marked all kinds of technical data of the heating trace.
Everwatt ATEX self-regulating heating traces are normally produced and supplied by meter, in continuous reel/bobbin.
Upon request or for special applications it can be supplied by tailored lengths and wired according to specific customer needs and specific project data depending on voltage (Volts) and power dissipation (Watts/m ) and lengths of the heating traces’ scraps and its cold areas.
